My Friend Jessie

 Not so long ago I hadn't met Jessie yet. She was a friend of my nieces, who after spending some time with my sister, brother-in-law and Carissa moved in with them to finish her high schooling. She was teaching herself through independent study and getting the chance to play la cross with a high school in Vegas. Our family fell in love with her instantly. She is bubbly, silly, talkative, helpful, friendly, hard working and full of sarcasm. She stayed with us for a little while here and there, and now comes to visit for a few days. We love having her around. I love spending time with her and hearing all the drama of being a young adult in these crazy times.
I especially love that she is SO willing to let me dress her up and take hundreds of photos of her. Practicing posing, lighting and coming up with ideas with her is a blast. She always has a great smile, bright eyes or a silly face to give me. Today we stopped at Savers (a thrift store) and picked out some fun, funky stuff. We mixed in some items from my own collection of funky and took some vintage photos. Even my sons got into the shoot and gave up some cute faces!
She even joined me at my first Cub Scout committee meeting and volunteered to help me with some things I volunteered for. I just know we will have a blast planning and making everything wonderful for the kids.
Jessie is one of those people that won't let a bad day keep her down long. She feels deeply for people and it shows in her ability to relate to anyone she meets. I am proud to call her my friend. I look forward to watching her life unfold and to seeing what wonderful paths she walk.
