I love volunteering at the boys' school.
Somedays I don't want to go. I'm either a little grumpy, lazy or too busy. Today was one of those days. I wasn't excited to leave my comfy chair, change out of my warm jammies and go be cheerful with others.
However I went.
It only took a few minutes and I already felt better. The kids were excited to see me. The hugs and the laughter became contagious. By the time I was halfway through sorting stacks of workbook pages I was whistling.
During the science lesson in Toby's class I couldn't resist capturing some photos of the students testing balance. When they saw the materials there were many "oohs" and "aahs" and it made me smile even bigger.
So as it turns out, going in today was the best balance I needed for my day. I found my real smile instead of that plastered one I put on as I left the house. I also got to see some kids enjoying science, which is always a GREAT thing.
